Title: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Super Deluxe Edition)

“It was 20 years ago today…”

Well, really it was 50 years ago today that Sgt. Pepper came out in the UK and then on June 2 in the US. I remember when I bought the LP in 1967. In mono.

This package is spectacular. It presents as an LP, with the cd’s and dvd’s in pockets inside the gatefold. The amazing box, which looks like a master tape box at EMI, also includes two posters and the card insert the original LP had. There is also a gorgeous book of photos with narrative of the making of the album, song by song.

The new stereo mix of the album is like hearing it for the first time. It’s spectacular.

This truly is a Super Deluxe Edition.

Title: Digitally Remastered Catalogue

Rating: love it!

In the late 1980’s when The Beatles’ albums came out on cd I took the morning off from work so I could go to Tower Records and buy them right away. Oh my, things have changed.

The Beatles have been conspicuously missing from the digital download world. Until now. Although you still can’t download them (legally), they released this awesome limited edition “apple” which is a usb flash drive with all the Beatles’ music in flac and high resolution mp3, as well as info, video, etc. It’s geek happiness.

How does the music sound? Astonishing. The details revealed in the remastering are jaw-dropping. It most definitely makes buying and listening to the entire Beatles catalog all over again a must. Not that that’s a difficult thing to do. The music is some of the best ever. The. Best. Ever.
